Ways these Broncos together with their 'play-dough' quarterback can halt the Kansas City Chiefs' dominance.

NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes live text for Sunday's games via various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary is available through designated networks for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the football calendar , after last week's talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable during those contests were the amount of infractions both conceded. The Eagles did so at crucial times so they kind of beat themselves after leading 17-3 entering the fourth period versus Denver, who play overseas this weekend.

But it proved positive to observe that Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to overcome that deficit before direct three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, securing the game 21-17.

Denver have the defensive player of the year in cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank first in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that battle.

They had effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing more than four defenders instead they might plug two LBs in the 'A' gap then drop them out and dispatch a nickel from the outside.

At the start in the campaign, we said during a show how the Broncos could be the current year's dark horses. They ended last season well then excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up big while recent RB JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks fifth league-wide in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love how head coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver represent a team that wants to run first, since you can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

It's also benefited QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to pass anywhere, however they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, which is different, plus he is highly agile.

His strengths include his mobility, being able to pass while moving, and using varied release points to deliver the pass when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws across the middle and past defenders.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays great poise under pressure and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade being tackled whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

If you consistently rush it eats up the clock and forces the opponent to be on the field for longer, and when you have a mobile QB the defence has to defend the field vertically and horizontally. It can be draining.

Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for the coach to have a young quarterback that is kind of like moldable clay. He can truly build something up the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

The head coach owns a championship and has surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is largely down to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with Nix aids shape him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they strong enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think Denver are elite. They're working better than most, that's a solid position to hold their division. All they need to do is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their forte, that is running the ball, and that's precisely what they should do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team yet to win any game.

Ever since the league started recording takeaways decades ago, the Jets are also the first team to be without any turnovers in five outings, this is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the West.

This hinges upon what version of the Chiefs they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
