The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in the state of California at the age of 55.

His passing was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.

The influential video game developer died after his automobile collided and caught fire on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, as reported by.

"This is a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his loved ones, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," an official with Electronic Arts commented.
