President Trump Calls Relatives of Injured Military Members to White House

President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the White House.

He added that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a shooting on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Vigils across the state have occurred in their memory.

White House Invitation

The president said he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump informed journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Reaction

Attendees came together over the past few days at the high school in the state to remember Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been working with the state guard as part of the president’s national effort to aid public safety in the capital.

Remembering Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that educators hoped for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that lifted those around her,” the principal, the leader of her previous school, stated to the press. “She was kind, considerate and always ready to help others.”

Memorial details for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Actions and Policy Adjustments

Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and charges of attempted murder while armed.

The incident caused the administration to suspend asylum applications and temporarily stop granting entry permits to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, according to the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general told a news show that she planned to speak to his relatives.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County High in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a military police officer with honor, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had bravery,” Morrisey informed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
