Approximately 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the state, bringing wind gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Impact
Locals witnessed giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts verified that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Response teams were working to restore electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams working to manage the widespread outages.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, around 1,000 households in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the capital city saw its most precipitation in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams received nearly 600 requests for assistance across the area, primarily for building damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent thunderstorm potential predicted across multiple regions of both states.
