Brian Eno Urges Public Help to Send Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The campaign hopes to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“It has a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Featured Artists

The track was produced after a major charity concert held in September. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the performance was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The diverse array of performers contributing to Lullaby encompasses a group of prominent voices from the industry. All took part in the September show, which successfully generated a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of music creators. The single showcases a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the campaign have stated that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These donations will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a spokesperson said. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Naturally, the more the merrier. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the territory was noted for its widespread damage, with a vast majority of infrastructure described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is above all spreading knowledge of this plight and proving that another narrative exists.”

The track is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the solidarity show will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from later in the month.
